There are times when taking your show on the road is simply the right – no make that only – move to make and this last month the Gerber marketing team did just that by dropping into midtown Manhattan for a new product showcase.
Highlighting our new 2013 gear, as well as some last minute gift ideas for holiday, we nestled into the MPE Penthouse on 46th street (just off Times Square) with Backbone Media and a host of top industry brands to invite our media friends in for a look. The end result? Well, much remains to be seen as media schedules come together but over 50 journalists represting a diverse mix of mainstream, outdoor and trade media outlets took part in the one day event and already calls from the likes of Popular Mechanics, Gizmodo and Field & Stream have come home to roost.
A great event, made even the more interesting through the appearance of a couple gold medal winning athletes – Heather Petri and Jessica Steffens from the U.S. women's water polo team. Now we've got a great job, but it's not every day we get to rub elbows with the country's athletic deities so we had a bit of fun with the girls. And as you can see they had a soft spot for the Gerber brand posing for their take on our Hello Trouble campaign.
All in all, a fantastic showing and one that will lay solid groundwork for future press. The big city? No problem. Gerber is #unstoppable.
